No. Big Joe probably has to shed. It can take upwards of a month for the whole process, so make sure Big Joe isn't disturbed during this time. This is why it's good to have a sand substrate so they can hide and molt properly. Some people even move the crab to it's own enclosure so they won't be bothered by tank mates.
Because all Hermit Crabs are WC's and probably not kept in the best conditions until they have reached their final destination (you) I've found that most shed almost immediately upon reaching a proper captive environment. Don't be surprised if Sophia and Guy Smiley bury themselves as well.

We got Big Joe yesterday so that Hermmy would have one around his size seems the other two are tiny. And Big Joe switched shells out almost immediatly, but into one not much bigger then his old one, and then he started to burry. We've gone some empty tanks laying around, so I'll clean one out and let him have his own place for a bit.

Thanks. I had them once before, only 2 and they both died within 2 months. My plan is to do whats best for these guys seems I know whats involved in having them this time.

Okay so I moved all the crabs into a bucket so that you could see the size difference in them all :|
The Spotted one is names Hermy(#1), Little Black guy is Guy Smilely(#2), Little white girl is Sophia(#3), Guy in the pink shell is Big Joe(#4), guy in the big black shell is named Big Guy(#5), and the one with the crusty shell doesn't have a name(#6).
Well they were all out to play today apparently and I snapped off a few more pictures.
