I just got a new enclosure from LLL......it is 24x24x48.......the question is.....how does everyone attach things....vines, limbs and others to the sides...i tried with twist ties, and they don't really go through to easily, and then I tried just metal wire, but when I tied it down, it started to rip the screen through a couple squares, so I stopped....are there any tricks, I need to know about attaching things to the sides???

I saw one here a couple weeks ago someones pic that appears to be fishing string used to tie the vines to the screen instead of cutting the screen which I have seen as well to use zip ties. I have been using my daughters jewelery string and it works great! Goes right through the wire.

plastic fencing

I went to my local hardware store and picked up some of that plastic vegetable garden wrap used to keep birds and rabbits out of you garden. I then cut panels to fit the inside. I used fishing line to tie the panels on the screen, then you can attach anything to the panels. Click the pics to enlarge then you will get a better idea of what I mean.

I don't think 50# test is needed. When are you going to put more than 50# of pressure on the wire? You could use 4lb test imo. It's prbably stronger than the wire itself and lot smaller than 50lb.

I don't think it matters-that is just what I happened to have on hand here-it seems to be a perfect thickness to work with and ties and stays tied! Whatever test works for you! :)

Howdy,

When I've used twist ties, I have found it handy to clamp them in-between the screen enclosure top and sides rather than risking damage to the screen .

also craft wire works well. you can get it at michaels in the jewlery making area.

This is what I use. I even use it to hang an entire pothos. I use it for the pothos so the boys can't escape the plant unless they jump........... Fred prefers to jump.:eek::rolleyes:
