Just finished the bug shed. Finally bugs are outside.

Took longer than expected but finally got the bug shed up and running. Have dubia and red runner roaches currently with my silkworms still inside. Will be ordering some green banana roaches and something else shortly. I’m Going to create shelving and fan is just temporary to air out fresh paint smell. But so far so good much better than raising cockroaches in my house.

Nice! Whats your plan for the winter months to keep the temps high enough?

I’ve been wanting to move mine outside but space won’t allow it at the moment, and with the cooler months coming they’ll just end up back inside.

I used inch and a half thick insulation all the way around and then foam boards on ceiling and door and then put plywood over it and sealed it all. Also used a strip of sealant foam on the inside and outside of door so when I close the door it's a nice tight seal. I left about a half inch slit in the back bottom of the shed which I put screen over and that is my ventilation. But it stays toasty in there. I went out there on a 40 degree night opened it up and heater isn't even on. I just use a little personal heater off amazon and a thermostat and it stays perfectly at 87. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
