Just finished my cage!

Here it is........everything is home made.....stand,cage,canopy. I'll probably trim the corners with? But for now It's done.

A little closer.

Any input as to changing anything?

Looks great to me, but as always with wood cages, I hope you lacquered or polyurethaned it to protect the wood as well as silicone the gaps in the bottom. if you did awesome job, if you didn't still awesome job. I like it a lot... looks great..

Yep, Two heavy coats of water based poly before assembly then each joint was wetted with poly before nailing. The bottom is temporarily 1/4 ply wood. But for now there are no gaps. I'm in the process of making a funnelled acrylic bottom with built in drain. Then I can hook up my homemade automatic misting system. It fills my dripper at the same time that it mists so after the spray I have 2 hours of drip water.

Looks Great..what kind of cham is that for? Is that big enough for a full grown male panther? Cause im looking to build one of my own so I was wondering how big it shoud be..

awesome! good handywork too. are you gonna add some more climby things like vines or stix? it might make a better retreat for your cham to have some hiding area, but i really like the design of the wood. what kind did you use, i'm curious? the floor idea with drainage sounds good, and the misting/dripper system is brilliant!

Great wood work Kevin. The cage looks amazing. Hopefully your chameleon is taking to it real well so far.

The cage is 25X19X36 but when I put the drop floor in it will be more like 42.
The back board is pine. The rest is oak, including the cabinet and canopy. The screens were made with "build a screen" rails cut to length and screened with plastic animal screen for the sides and door, and aluminum for the top.

I plan on putting another vine in and replacing one umbrella with a hybiscus. Then I'm going to secure a branched driftwood to the back for more sloid climbing.

Right now it's housing my pregnant female but when she does her thing it will house my male.
