Does anybody else's chameleons have weird habits? For example Tony, in the last few months will NOT drink water if the cage door is closed. I don't know why. Maybe it makes him paranoid that I won't let him out again. In my observations of him, I leave the cage door up he goes from leaf to leaf lapping up water, enjoying the spray etc. but the moment I close the cage door he runs to the cage and tries to get out. If I don't let him out he just sits there waiting for me to open it. Won't go back to drinking water no matter how long I wait. Its funny and cute, but sometimes frustrating when I have to be somewhere.

Idk. Has anyone's chameleons picked up odd traits? Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else already.

Funny you mention water. My guy only drinks in the mornings when the door is closed. I mist through the screen and he starts trying to drink the mist from the air and then lets me lightly squirt water into his mouth until he's had enough. usually for a minute or 2 of consistent drinking. Makes life easier for me.

Tony does that sometimes too where I can mist and he'll try drinking the air or let me get his mouth, but ONLY when the cage door is open. Lol. Maybe our chalemeons are opposites.

Hahaha yeah i thought it was pretty weird, in general it seems most chams don'lt like being sprayed, but mine usually enjoys getting drenched and drinks straight from the bottle.

See Ryker prefer heavier droplets while Hope wants a super fine mist. So Hope will drink just fine from the auto-mister, but Ryker will only drink directly from a hand mister.
