Just a question..

I noticed my veiled's casque was looking a bit odd. I gently pressed on it and it's.. squishy?
Normally it's hard.. Could this be a vitamin deficiency? It looks fine.. just feels weird..

A loose casque could be signs of vitamin deficiency, or so I was told by the vet because Fred had a similar issue with his. This also doesn't mean you did anything wrong. Fred's casque issue was cured with some vitamin a and b injections.

That's odd because I've kept the same vitamin regimen for the past 4 months with him.. and he was fine until recently.

Yeah. I hadn't done anything different and it happened too. Hasn't happened since though.

if the sides squish that is fine as they keep fat in the casque. however if the whole thing moves that is bad. find a pic of a veiled skull and you will see the vast open area for this.

my veiled's casque feels sturdy yet the skin on it feels very "soft", maybe that is where your getting the squishyness feel from? i also have my veiled on a vitamin regimen.

Gotcha. I just thought it was weird because up until recently he had no squish at all. Maybe he's getting fat hahaha.

I feel better now. :D

Nevermind. lol I was just about to type exactly what the previous person said. I'm too slow!

I don't know about "squishy" but soft is definitely good in the sides. Means they're well fed and hydrated, in my experience.

The trait you definitely don't want is "bendy" or "flexible".

Doesn't seem too flexible. I'll check again in a few days, I don't want to stress him out messing with his head.

my cham would bite the piss out of me if i messed with his veil lol. mine has a deviation to the left in the middle of it. hes a bit deformed from birth only on his veil though, and its only a slight deviation 1mm
