Just a few updates on the veiled and a ?????

I finally moved 2 weeks ago and have yet to set up my computer so I use my moms every few days.

Clara hates moving. I had to box her to move 5 minutes down the road and she has been nasty ever since. Hissing and jumping at me. What a brat. She is about 4-5 inches in just her body now and has shed 4 times since getting her in Jan. this year. I'd assume she is about 5 months old???? Eating 30-40 1/4 inch crickets a day so I think I'll go to the next size up when I reorder. My boyf decided to give her wax worms while I was at work. She quickly ate all 7!!! I told him not to do that anymore. He wanted to see her eat but I'm afraid of her not eating crickets anymore.

I have caught her on the floor of the cage walking around a few times since I got her. Is that normal?? I know people here have said their chams hang on the bottom if sick. Once she sees me, she runs back into the branches but I am thinking she is just hunting food????

Do you have pictures of her?
If she is actually 4-5 months old you are feeding her too much. Actually 40 1/4" crickets is too much food for any age.
At 4-5 months she should be eating 1/2" to full sized crickets ... 8 per day, or every other day.
I have hatchlings, less than a week old, that are tackling 1/4 inch crickets
Exploring her cage is not an unusual activity ... especially for a young chameleon.

Fred goes to the bottom occasionally to collect the most water from the vines when he drinks. if your cham isn't -staying- on the floor, just down there momentarily than i wouldn't worry

30-40 crickets a day? Wow. Yes, get bigger crickets. Waxworms as a treat are no big deal, just don't feed them exclusively. I gave my panther 4 wax worms and 3 superworms this morning (I'm also trying to get him to gain some weight).

If you have a female and she goes to the bottom a lot, make sure you have a container with sand down there for her to lay eggs in. You don't seem sure about how old she is, and I'm not sure how old Veileds are when they first start laying, so I'll let someone with more expertise on female Veileds answer that one.

Otherwise if she just likes to roam and goes down to the bottom sometimes, that's just fine.

I don't have my camera as I'm at my moms house right now. I will post some tomorrow. They are on my camera at the new house. I'm not sure of the age. She came to my work in the first week in January. I took her after researching them a few weeks and cooperate wouldn't listen to me saying that her habitat was wrong. She was bone thin since we were only allowed to feed her 4 days a week and only 10 crickets. No one but me misted her. They still won't listen. I'm def going to get 3/4 crickets next time
