I’m looking to get a pair of jumbo jacksons chameleons. My reptile room is kind of warm (around 82 degrees). I have been told Jacksons like it cooler but I feel this is bs? Would a pair be ok in a warmer room? Do I need heat?

I believe that Jackson’s need to be cooler at nighttime. @JacksJill is our Jackson’s expert and she should be able to tell help. I don’t own a Jackson’s so idk much about them ?

Jackson's like an ambient or room temperature closer to 72 F during the day and in the 60's at night. Higher temperatures will shorten their life span significantly. If you decide to get what I assume are Kenyan Jackson's you will want them in a different room from the rest of your reptiles.
They do like to have a basking spot in the 82 F range but if the whole cage is that hot they will be miserable.
If you live somewhere with decent temperatures and good shade consider keeping them in outdoor enclosures. They need to be kept separately except when the female is receptive.
