I'm trying to decide what live plant(s) I would like to use in my cage (large breeder series from Dragon Strand). All of the wild vines I see around are ivy and I know that some ivy is poisonous. I'm wary to use pothos since I do have a cat and I know he would love to eat a plant if he got the chance.
I'm interested in jasmine as a climbing vine option. How much luck have others had keeping this plant alive in a cham cage? How quickly does it grow? Is any lighting in addition to the UVB bulb and heat bulb needed? What's the best method for planting (mix in sand/rocks etc)?
I've done well with outdoor gardening but have not done so well with houseplants in the past.
Edit: I'm also perfectly open to other suggestions, but I am interested in the Jasmine plant due to its fragrance and edible flowers.
