Jackson's Chameleon died

I bought a Jackson's Chameleon 3 days ago and he seemed fine until today. I had him in a mesh cage with a heat lamp and a daylight lamp on him. He was bright green and never showed any signs of distress. The first day he ate very well, the second day he didn't eat at all, and the third day he ate okay. I misted his cage and always made sure he had water on the leaves for him to drink. I don't know if this was my fault or the pet stores fault. I got him at a reptile show and he seemed healthy when i bought him and even up until he died. I misted his cage and came back a few hours later and he was dead. Any idea why or how this happened or who's fault it was?:(

I think you should contact where you bought him from. You couldn't have done much in three days to really alter his life. He was probably sick prior to your purchase.

im so sorry for your loss :( could you fill this out for us please and maybe we could see what went wrong :(

In 3 days you would have had to do something pretty drastic to accintally kill a perfectly healthy animal, even a chameleon. It sounds like this was an already ill animal that was just hiding his signs of illness very well. They do that. Since you got him from an expo he was most likely an imported wild caught, so who knows what all he had been through. I'm sorry for your loss. :(
