Jackson's Chameleon died

I bought a Jackson's Chameleon 3 days ago and he seemed fine until today. I had him in a mesh cage with a heat lamp and a daylight lamp on him. He was bright green and never showed any signs of distress. The first day he ate very well, the second day he didn't eat at all, and the third day he ate okay. I misted his cage and always made sure he had water on the leaves for him to drink. I don't know if this was my fault or the pet stores fault. I got him at a reptile show and he seemed healthy when i bought him and even up until he died. I misted his cage and came back a few hours later and he was dead. Any idea why or how this happened or who's fault it was?

I think you should contact where you bought him from. You couldn't have done much in three days to really alter his life. He was probably sick prior to your purchase.

Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

In 3 days you would have had to do something pretty drastic to accintally kill a perfectly healthy animal, even a chameleon. It sounds like this was an already ill animal that was just hiding his signs of illness very well. They do that. Since you got him from an expo he was most likely an imported wild caught, so who knows what all he had been through. I'm sorry for your loss.
