Yes Rod montane. I would suspect you would be getting true Kenyan xantholophus in SA. My pair are from Hawaii. The Hawaiians can take temps a bit warmer then the Kenyan's.
I m keeping them in the shade with only morning sun. Temps around their cages stay in the low 80f's during the day and drop into the low to mid 60f's at night. The mist system runs for 30 minutes every 4 hours.
Congrats Carl!! I've actually got a pair of Mt. Meru jacksons on hold for me right now. Just have to get their enclosure ready and hopefully I'll have some jackson babies soon too! They're adorable
I find it is the eyes with baby jax. They are always HUGE! Hard not to just stare at them. Then they have that reddish tone. Not to mention, they are mean little bullies as babies. Nothing like their adult demeanors. Enjoy cleaning up ALL that POOP!
