Jackson Pairs

I have the opportunity to bring home a really handsome male jackson. I currently have a very sweet female jackson. Chances are, breeding will occur at some point but not right off the bat. There is of course the acclimating and introductions. I have concerns about acceptances and stresses. I can split the viv she's in now (18x18x36) into two halfs or will need to contemplate other housing. Any suggestions are welcomed. Xanthoman, you particularly, as you have experience in jacksons.:)

xanth cage size ?

my personal opinion is that 18 x18x36 is a good size for one adult or maybe a little snug for two compatible co-habititating females, but too small to divi, any adult xanth should have a minimum of 18" horizontal movement. my suggestion would be to bite the bullet and get another 18x18x36 (preferably from the same manufacturer) ,its just nicer when the cages are the exact same height and depth, just my 2c

I greatly appreciate your 2C worth:) -- that is the direction I will be going in. But for now, he is in a smaller bach pad till I bite the bullet in two weeks for one like I already have (matching pairs -- and I do agree about matching them).

They have already seen each other in a free range palm and I don't think they are any where near tolerating company -- who knows, they may never, but in the mean while I can appreciate the company of both albeit in different rooms.:):)

The new kid on the block...
