Jackson Chameleon?

I just got my veiled on thusday, and I am already thinking about what I want to get next once he is big enough to be moved to a large cage, I want to put something in my smaller one that I am using for the baby veiled.

I was thinking about a Jackson chameleon, but I am not sure if I can keep a full size chameleon of any kind in a 30x24x12 enclosure? Are jacksons too big for that, or can I get one?

Thanks guys.

Is there any chameleon I could keep in that enclosure when I am done with it? Perhaps a carpet?

Your best bet for a cage that size would be
Furcifer lateralis
Chamaeleo Trioceros wiedersheimi
Chamaeleo Trioceros jacksonii merumontanus
Chamaeleo Trioceros rudis
Chamaeleo Trioceros hoehnelii
Chamaeleo Trioceros bitaeniatus
Chamaeleo senegalensis

Peacock chameleon
Dwarf Jackson or Mt. meru
Rudis chameleon
Hoehneilii chameleon
Side striped chameleon
Senegal chameleon

Go to adcham.com and look them up by their latin name.

Ahh, thank you, never heard of adcham.

Are those highly priced? Dwarf Jackson sounds like the one for me, I really love Jacksons, my roomate has 2 of them.

Yea, they need a glass cage.
check our flchams.com they just got a shipment of peacock chameleons.
Also Josh at Lost Lake Chameleons has them for 60.00.
He is an active member on the forum. you can PM him.
I think the Peacocks are beautiful they have a "crown" on the top of their head.

I have a glass cage, that is what I am raising my baby in right now.

I am worried about WC chams, don't they have parasites and stuff? Peacocks look pretty cool, I am checking them out now.

So what can I raise to an adult in a glass tank? Jacksons or Peacocks? I am confused..

I know glass is taboo, it has a screen top, and has a fan not too far from it, plus simple convection guarntees airflow into the tank.

You said "Yeah they need a glass cage"

Can I put a dwarf jackson or peacock or carpet in there?

Oh, I ment the pygmies need glass cages.
I dont want to say yes or no about the dwarf or peacock.
If you decide you want to buy from Mike a Flchams.com or Josh at LLC your can ask them.

Thanks for the help. I like pygmys, they look pretty cool. I have time to decide for sure, I am waiting til my baby veiled is big enough to moved into a larger enclosure out of the glass.
