I am attending the workshop this saturday for chameleons and i want to do a fecal test for the first time but he doesnt poop to often what should i do. if you wanna see how he looks search harold at dawn! and you willl see him also he hasnt been eating anything lately he is about 8 months old the only thing i can get him to eat are new things how do i fix this.

Way to ask multiple questions....I'll just deal with "I need poop".

We just did a "how to get poop" discussion in the health forum so I have ideas at the ready.

Handle him. One of mine is convinced that the way to end the horrible torture that is "being with me" is to poop on me. He's smart because he doesn't get taken out much...usually only when I haven't seen poop and want to do a urate check.

Sunlight. Several people said that putting their chameleons in natural sunlight encouraged a good poop.

Shower. Again, several people agreed that giving the chameleon a good shower could incite a good poop.

I'm glad you're coming to the workshop. Bring your chameleon too. I would say that the best way to get him to go is by giving him a tepid shower for 15 to 30 minutes. If you have the option to mist him with the shower head, then even better. Make sure it's on the cool side, not too warm. If he doesn't go, I'll give it a try while you're here. We have a shower in the workshop.

Are you trying to get him to eat every day? At that age, by what I've read here, they really only need to be fed every other day.

The one in your avatar appears to be older than 8 months.
Where did you get him?
Is he WC or CB?

hes about a year old i got him at the pomona reptile show and they said he was between 4-6 months old at the time from fl chams if you wanna see a closeup search harold at dawn

most jacksons are wild caught but everything went well im thinking he needs more variety in food

ya i feed him every other day and i dust the food on a schedule
