it's baffling!

Does anyone know how the HELL you can search for an hour to find a BRIGHT RED chameleon only to find him right under your nose! I swear I search longer to find Calais than I do Leo and he actually BLENDS IN! He made me tear down half the plastic sheeting on the windows while he sat happily on his little plant stand

Your not alone!! I had a plum tree that I'd let them free range on everyday and it never failed when I went to find them.....I couldnt....then it would be like BAM! right in front of me the whole time or even out on a branch with no leaves......try doing this with smaller chams like sternfeldi......mind boggling on how so quick they are in blending in........

hahah yes i do i have bright ble and yellow chams i put in a small mango tree and bam there gone. oh how bout loosing a 18 in cham in his cage my mellers blend so well it amazes me:D

I once lost a mellers in a grape fruit tree..... found her in my neighbors fig tree later that day........searching for her was like a workout!!

Never used the grape fruit tree after that.......got way to big...

hahaahah i still have a iguanna on the loose i think its two yards over eating blue berrys and what ever else they have there

i put my hand on one looking for her just didnt see her i swear she got out but bam she was in my hand on a branch

id like to have all the time back spent looking for chameleons that were in plain sight..start grabbing branches one a time running your hands down and then bam "hello how are you today". panthers are bright right? hell no, you would think among all the green and brown furnishings in a cage that bright ass red, orange, green, blue would stick out like flashing light. no doubt it is baffling.

In a different sort of way, the leaf tails are...IMHO.

I agree.....they have uberly cool cryptic patterns and even have developed skin that resembles the bark/moss/leaves that they hide in........I would love to have a nice colony of them......someday..satanic are my favorites.....with the mossys close behind
