Hello all. I just wanted to share that after owning Kibi for over 3 years, since he was 4 months old, he has NEVER climbed onto me voluntarily. I made the mistake when he was younger (as many first-time owners do) thinking he was too delicate and if I tried to handle him he would die of shock. Well, yesterday, he enjoyed a nice hand-misting and I slipped my hand under his foot, and sure enough he climbed onto my arm! He did have a "what the???" look on his face, but I took him to our lanai and he seemed to enjoy it all. He then climbed up my arm, up the back of my neck and perched on my head. Of course the only picture I have of this happening is on my phone and it won't download. Anyway, I am very excited and knew that if anyone would understand it's the fine folks on this forum. My friends are humoring me, but they really don't get it at all. Thanks for reading and sharing this with me! Michelle

I kjnow what you feel! WHen kink was tiny, hed love coming out to play. THen he got mean, couldnt get my fingers near him without him trying to bite me, then I started free ranging him, and no hissing, no bite attempts, just a what are you doing mom face.

i remember my "first time"...it was great see your cham climbing around alot, open the cage to just give a lil space and they come right up to you (mine was a jacksons at the time)..it was soo cool!!

p.s. i used to think if you jus look at a cham wrong they would fall off the tree and die.. lol

Congrats! That's wonderful news Michelle. Just keep offering him your hand and I'm sure he'll do it again and again. Sometimnes you just have to leave your hand there for awhile because they are VERY slow.

Congrats! I know the feeling! My boy only crawls onto me when he's outside or in the shower, other than that you can forget it! haha

Thanks for your kind words. I'm planning on trying again either Monday or Tuesday, so that he's not overwhelmed and so this is always a positive experience for him. This time I'll have a real camera close at hand to try to get better pics, as well!
