Todd is one of the best on the internet when it comes to the lighting needs for Chameleons. Period. Not opinion but actually a fact. I've been keeping reptiles for over 40 years and did a great deal of my own research back before the internet existed. A guy like Todd would have been helpful back then...however the lights we use now didn't even exist anyway then.

I bought one of the first compact UVB bulbs...damn thing caused eye problems and a sunburn down the spine on a cham. After seeing the health issues I started hitting up ppl about the new product and we were all having issues. ZooMed immediately redid their bulbs. The bottom line, the compact bulbs for chameleons are not something I recommend. I personally use the 12% Arcadia T5 linear bulbs and that is because my cages are huge and very tall...so that means the animals can get either close to or very far away from the UVB as they want.

He also encourages you to use a shot glass to let chameleons drink, which I can think of some benefits, but mostly it is bad because bacteria will obviously build up if you don't change it like every day.

He never gave any evidence as to why 10.0's are bad, and also HATES when I refer people to https:www.chameleonforums.com because he says it's "stealing the subreddit's attention/community".

That community is full of idiots with ego's. My pinky finger knows more about chameleons than that whole crock pot of self proclaimed experts using shot glasses. The fact they are concerned about attention should say something to the intelligent reader. You are in good company here if you value your chameleon.

The "reptile guy" at my pet store told me to use a 15.0 UVB because that's what he used for his chams, so I'd say a 10.0 would be fine. I suggest zoo med.

Gotta say that is a weird chart(im assuming its a luckyherp brand, as that is the only 15.0 that came up). I dont understand how wattage increases radiation per square meter, when the bulb is getting longer as wattage increases. Yes you could have a 8ft bulb that puts out 30-35 µW/cm² , but so does a 1ft bulb... The just light up different areas.
