Is this plant poisonous?

My boss bought an extra ficus tree and wants to give it to me.

I would love to bring it home for my chameleon, but I am afraid that the plants growing out of the bottom of the pot are poisonous to my Veil Chameleon.

Can anyone tell me by this picture what the plants are, and if they are poisonous?

Hypoestes - "polka-dot plant", also marketed as "splash" is not poisonous to mammals or birds, and I would not think reptiles either. It IS pretty wimpy and will be wrecked within a short time as animals walk on it. I would not put it in an enclosure.

You can always remove the little plants, and just use the ficus in the cage. Make sure you wash the leaves and use some potting soil without fertilizer or perlite in it. A lot of us cover the dirt up with large river stones, so the chameleon doesn't eat the dirt.
