I put my enclosure in front of an east facing window, where I leave the window open all day. It gets a lot of sun in the morning until noon and a lot of ambient sunlight (more than enough to light the rest of the room) the rest of the day. The light does filter through a screen in a window and the enclosure, though. I also have a reptisun 10.0 that needs replaced by august that I leave on, I figure it has some UVB left, even if it wouldn't be ideal on its own.
Is this enough UVB?

a 10.0 can be a little much....glass filters out 99 percent of uvb so its a no go on the glass window and even if its open the screen on the cage and window will filter out too much for the cham.........use a repti sun 5.0 and those 10.0 can last a whole year almost!
but when its time to replace buy a 5.0 for shure.....what kind of chameleon is it???

You'd need a UVB meter to know for sure. Certainly a double screen (the window screen then the cage screen) is going to cut the UVB out by a significant amount. I would continue having a UVB light on at least several hours a day (perhaps from noon onwards). The chameleon can presumable get away from the UV if it needs/wants to, right?

What species of cham? A montane species such as deremensis may be fine with that amount, but a lowland basking species such as a veiled should have more. Also, you'll have to shut that window sometimes due to weather, right? If you want to take advantage of the "real thing" why not use a portable basking cage outdoors when the temps are good? Reptariums are great for this.
