I use paper towels for the bottom of cage. I change it all the time.
I did notice that my towels are realy wet. kinda concerned of mold or mold spores. is there any safe cleaner to use on the bottom of the cage ?
I clean my cages simply by removing the lower front panel and blasting them out with a hose usually once a week. That's it. I clean the plants off same way. I clean all cage furniture, cricket bins, mist system/parts with bleach diluted to 1 part bleach/10 parts water. After a soaking in this, the bleach will break down into harmless substances such as salts. I briefly worked as a tattoo artist and I had to be certified by taking a class on blood born pathogens and the lady giving the class said bleach is way to go. I asked her after the class about using it in my reptile cage cleaning and she said it was fine as long as it sat for at least 30 minutes and was thoroughly rinsed with fresh water and allowed to dry in the sun. I've never seen any problems that I could associate with using it.
