Is setup okay for baking/hiding?

The temp gets up to 80-82 with a 75w bulb. The thermometer is on right side near top close to the large high vine.

If your setup was mine, I would buy some really nice poison arrow frogs to put in it & go with a screen cage for your chameleon! Just my opinion! The glass setup won't give you adequate air circulation, but a screen enclosure will, and be healthier for your chameleon! With my 16 chams mine are all housed in screen enclosures, no substrate on the cage bottoms! 6.0 Arcadia lighting & 50 watt basking bulbs & mistking misting system! My lighting is all on a timer & comes on & shuts off daily!

You NEVER WANT TO BAKE YOUR CHAMELEON it will die. Your set up looks ok if you live in colder area with dry humidity. Setup looks good for pygmy chams or trioceros chams I would put a screen top on and small fan to ensure air flow. There are screens to allow upstarts... Top had a enclosure wide screen by 8"
And there is a screen below doors horizontal for intake.

I've been running the setup for close to two weeks... Temperatures night 65-68
Lights on 70-74. Basking area 80-82

Humidity 40-55 'dry'. After misting 70-90

Soil generally feels dry to touch... Doesn't stick to hands or clump.

As a glass user myself I would recommend having the whole top in screen since chameleons need ventilation. The substrate would also need some covering as it is known to cause impact if your chameleon by chance would eat it. Accidents do happen.
Otherwise it looks pretty nice to look at! Chameleons do love foliage and there can never bee to much of it if you would want to add more buit it is a nice build

Baking temp is too low, I suggest 350* degrees for 30 min for medium to well done and 250* degrees for 25 min for medium rare... Enjoy your delicious Cham. Thought I was the only one that enjoyed this delicacy.

I agree with GrimCamel unless you always plan on cup/hand cup feeding. I like free ranging myself so they can get more exercise running around the cage and it's fun to watch but I would not do that if I had substrate.

Assuming you have a montane species the only thing I would change "like GrimCamel said" I would put a screen over the whole top for the most ventilation.

Another point to consider, is that UVB won't travel through glass. It's hard to tell from your photo whether the UVB light is on screen or glass.

I can't change the screen amount.... I'll have lighting unit half over glass(for plants/illumination) half over screen(uvb bulb).

I'm getting a veiled.... I'm thinking I simply need to up the wattage of the bulb to increase basking temps.

Still thinking about what to cover soil with....

Many people uses glass enclosures and are successful keepers. I feel an all screen enclosure is better suited to veiled chameleons. Also think about getting rid of the substrate, it's not needed. When considering a chameleon as a pet research is your friend. When I was setting up my enclosure I orederd a "kit". I thought the kit was all I needed. I should have gotten the components seperatly because I ended up replacing everything in the kit anyway. Moral: I should have done more research and gotten the proper, best components the first time around. I would have saved a good amount of money. Good luck.
