Is my chameleon okay?

Breed: not sure pic included
age: I'd say at least 2 or more months
Temp: 70-75 day 60-65 night
Humidity: at night it's 20-30 during the day 50-60
Food: pin head crickets 3-5 a day & fruit flies in the cage but not eaten because they're at the bottom
Sex:not sure
Had it for 2days
It's a glass cage & fake plans inside
I take it out everyday to get used to & to hand feed because it won't eat on its own or drink on its own
It also didn't eat for 2 days because I got it on Xmas eve & at the time the petshops were closed & also on xmas

Problem: I just get worried because it sleeps too much & even when I carry it it's not very active anymore stays asleep when holding it for short period of time & it takes awhile to have it eat & likes to stay at the top close to the light & stays in the leaves like all day. please just help me to with corrections

You got a baby veiled there. There is a care sheet on here under resources for veilds( I cant post the link). Looks female and dehydrated, if you have only had it for 2 day you shouldnt be handling it. Also your food sources are too small.

We'll be able to help you out better if you fill out the "how to ask for help" form below. As mentioned by gecko, your cham appears very dehydrated. I would focus more on re-hydration now than food. You should also leave the cham alone as it is still adjusting to his new home and is already stressed, so you are only adding to the stress by handling him.


Cage Info:

* Cage Type - What kind of cage are you using? What is the size?
* Lighting - What kind of lighting are you using? How long do you keep the lights on during the day?
* Temperature - What temperature range have you created? Basking spot temp? What is the temperature at night?
* Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels?
* Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
* Location - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas?


Chameleon Info:

* Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon.
* Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What kind of schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
* Supplements - What are you dusting your feeders with and what kind of schedule do you use?
* Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
* Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings.
* History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
* Current Problem - The current problem that you are concerned about.

First off he looks very dehydrated his eyes appear to be sunk way in. But to get to the root of the problem more info will be needed..cage type, size of cage, lighting, supplements... being you got him from a pet store he was probably not being properly cared for... his temps are going to need to be more around 80.. humidity needs to stay around 40-70... how are you giving him water? And how often? And also you need to stop handling him now.. chameleons don't really like to be handled it tends to stress them out if they are handled too often.. he is probably already stressed trying to adapt to his new environment.. I would give him at least a few weeks before even thinking about handling him... try getting a small dish to put up somewhere higher in the cage and put some crickets in there... make sure your dusting them in calcium and gut loading he needs all his nutrients right now.. and he's a little large to still be eating fruit flies and pinhead crickets... try just getting him some small-medium sized crix he may be more interested.. nothing longer than the space between the eyes...


I would advise you to immediately check the care sheet and make sure you are doing everything right.. and fill out this question sheet so people here can help you better assess
