Is it bad to handle your chams when they are sleeping?

For example, if I needed to weigh a pregnant female that was being stubborn throughout the day or wanted to inspect a WC cham to make sure he's healthy (since he hides so much during the day still) is that bad for them? I'm sure it makes them feel like they were roofied when they wake up in a different spot in their hibiscus tree, but honestly does it really affect them negatively? I'd like to know before i start doing this is i do.

Short reply - yes. Think of a child or even yourself. We all hate to have out sleep interrupted. Your cham needs darkness and sleep much the same as we do.

Do it during the day .they go into a deep deep sleep when u wake up they get real upset stressed. My sambava is one of the nicest chams I got one night the timer turned the light off when he was going from branch to branch so he fell asleep in an awkward position ,I grabbed him slowly to put him in a better position ,well he turned into the incredible hulk cham crazy crazy trying to bite me .so u don't want to stress her out that way. If she is a lil q uneasy put her in a Tupperware bowl that she can't get out weigh her then weigh the bowl then subtract the bowl weight.

In most cases like this, it's no problem to wait another day and weight the chameleon awake. It doesn't make sense to disturb a sleeping chameleon, although it may not have serious consequences doing it once a lifetime ;). Wait until tomorrow, then take a longer branch and let your chameleon climb on it without touching the animal. Put both on the scale, that's the easiest way to handle a shy or stubborn chameleon.

YES! lol.

trust me, you dont want to wake up a sleeping chameleon.

ive had to wake up my panther when he has a prolapse so i can put it back in, and lets just say.... he HATES me.
