i have a male adult chameleon and i have been speaking to a chameleon specialist in the uk and he told me its fine to feed my chameleon everyday but i keep reading on here that you should on feed him every other day???

The real question is how much are you feeding him and how old is he? Overfeeding can cause obesity and even increase the risk of intestinal prolapse because bowel movements are too large and causing them to strain too hard. So deciding frequency should take into account how much of what feeders you are using and his age.

i offer food all the time, but they dont always take it..i think it just depends on the animal ( take me for instance, i could eat carls jr. every day and wont gain a pound, but if my mom did she would be 400 lbs in a month..)

These are animals not gadgets. They do what they want when they want. If he's hungry he'll eat if hes not he won't . My cham sleeps hanging from his tail at night which isnt normal but he likes doing it.

by the way i dnt treat my chameleon like a gadget hes my baby end of!

some people feed every day, some feed every other day. There is no wrong answer. As already stated, its important not to overfeed. I feed 3 to 5 cricks or the equivalent in other types of feeders every day. Some feed 6 to 10 every second day.

Mine are so young still I am feeding each day as well. Which will be subject to change in a few months, even now sometimes they eat like they are starving, and other times just eat a few feeders.

I do 1 dubia for my female, and 2 dubias for my males everyday. Sometimes my ambilobe male eats them, sometimes he doesn't. I just let them marinate in the feeding jug til he feels like eating :D

i feed every day,my 6-7 mnth old veiled will eat 7-8-9 lrg crix daily, sometimes he will leave the odd one out for an early morning snack the next day, sometimes not,my 3-4 mnth old veiled will eat 9-10 med crix and leave nothing behind every day..i think most know when the have had enough, just keeping an eye out for abnormal eating/defecating habits and routines is what i do..as said earlier in another post,i dont think there is a right or wrong answer,it just depends on the cham..allthough i have read juveniles need more food readily available to them till about 5 mnths, then cut back a few..correct me if i am wrong anyone ,constructive critisism is always welcome on the behalf of the cham well being:)

This what I met and that there's no manual as to handle your individual cham, each one is a little person. :)

I feed hatchlings at least once every day as much as they will eat in a couple of minutes leaving a couple of extra crickets in their cage since they are growing. Once they are about 3 or 4 months old I feed them every second day as much as they will eat in a couple of minutes and leaving a couple of crickets in the cage for later. I continue feeding them every second day from then on except for during the winter when its cooler and their metabolism slows down a bit...and then it could be that they will get fed every 3 days. There's no set rule. I just don't overfeed them constantly and I don't feed them if they are getting fat. I control the females' diet more than the male's too with the hope that they will not lay big clutches....or maybe not lay at all.

I feed almost daily.
Fators to consider are Quantity, temperature, time of day, how active the animal is, its weight, is it breeding, etc

When I got my Female Veiled, I was Feeding her about 10 medium size crickets every other day, then after she shed a months after she lays, I change her diet to 3 Dubias every other day and she looks great.
