Is anyone going to try this?

Has anyone decided if they're going to try one of these yet? I've been lurking on the website and they really don't give you much information about how it truly works or the dimensions of the enclosures. I know you can place a pre-order for June but that's about all I can find. They look neat! I see they've got built in LED diodes and UVB. But I wonder how you change them out, the cost to do so, and etc.

There have been various forms of this idea over the decades. More often than not they are designed around the ideal of bringing a relaxing natural scene or vibe to a room. Think the relaxing sounds of a water fountain but only in a visual sense when it comes to understanding the motive behind this.

Now have they tested it with any type of animal? If not then most likely they didn't take into consideration a lot of things.

I know that they've done various tests with frogs and a few gecko species. It seems that they really took into consideration the realistic Health needs and lighting needs for the animals. This one has a built-in misting system and you can control it right from your phone. If I can acquire more information about them and feel it might be suitable for a good terrarium I may just try one. On their website they talk a lot about protecting frog species and referred to them as the canary in the coal mine. It comes off to me as though they want to help preserve species.

It doesn't seem very chameleon friendly. It has under tank heat and way to low for most cham species. I suppose it would be good for carpet chameleons ect.

The dimensions of the enclosure on are the site and are.

WxHxD
One - 18.65” x 12.50” x 14.00”
Terra - 24.65” x 15.00” x 14.00”
Aqua - 24.65” x 15.00” x 21.00”
Aqua 2 - N/A, no specs yet but the preview pic looks tall, may work for chams?
Grand - 49.04” x 15.00” x 28.00”

So depending what they do with the Aqua II, that would be the only one IMO that is suitable for most chams.

Furthermore, from what I gather. These things have some hardcore heat panels and light panels that regulate via the cloud. What if something goes wrong and cooks your cham. I dont know that I would put any trust into something like this.

I would think if you have dart frogs or atelopus toads/frogs it would be OK
For sure. I might get some dart frogs or painted mantellas and set one up. I'm thinking it might possibly work for pygmy chameleons to depending on how much control you have over the heat, watering, and etc. But you'd almost have to get the largest size.

Dart frogs would do well, pygs might? I'm not sure, I was considering putting pygs in my 110 gallon for a while but then decided against it. Day geckos of the smaller variety could do well in it.

That'd be a hell of a pygmy enclosure! Why didn't you do it?

I didn't think they'd get enough airflow, the top would be screen but the entire enclosure is actually a 2 inch thick glass meant for a saltwater aquarium.

Alot of people use fish tanks for their pygmys! Really the majority I've seen are in tanks alike. Plus, you'd have lights over them. That creates enough airflow. I say do it!

I would love to, once I get the set up down I think they'd thrive in it, it'd take some tweaking but God it'd be gorgeous...

They are very expensive and not very big, I think it's awesome but until they build a really big one I'll pass. I texted them and they say hopefully in the future. They do have two sizes but I still think a bit small for my taste. If I'm gonna spend that kind of money I would like it to be big enough to house a full size chameleon

And in the site they do have a video of how it works but you have to go to where you order for dimensions

Actually not sure if it was always this way. But yesterday when I did it, the shop area tells you the price but no measurements. I got the measurements from learn area.

I've posted this previously but only as a "what if" scenario, what if they build something similar for chams!!! That would've cool, the idea was somewhat controversial because some keepers enjoy the husbandry aspects and believe it's all part if the chameleon keeping expirience, I like it but wouldn't mind some help, especially if it helps my chams habitat requirements and increases the quality of life for my cham

I've seen the video and all of the other demo stuff, but they really don't tell you a whole lot as to how often you need to change out the lighting, does the misting system have filters, and how much actual custom control you have over it. I think these would make a great enclosure for pygmy chameleons being you get one of the larger sizes. I just might be ordering one in a couple of weeks.

From what I've gathered on their websites it seems that the animals health and care requirements were in their best interest while making these. They seem to be big into frogs and helping endangered species. I don't know, I have to gather more information yet before I actually make a decision...either way they seem pretty neat!
