Is a palm ok for chameleons?

I am about to introduce some new chams tomorrow and in one of my cages I have a palm that I bought at a local store. I wanted to know if anyone has heard if they are bad or not? I hope not because it looks great in the cage and will offer my WC a lot of good hiding space.

I just wanted to be sure that it was so that I don't poison him. I know that there are chameleons that live in palms in madagascar but they are coconut palms. Not sure if there is a huge difference between the two genera of palms.

I don't believe they are toxic.
What species of chameleon?
I'm not too worried about the senegal eating the palm.

It is a panther so I don't have to worry about him eating the palm. I know veileds can have a little snack every once and awhile but none of my panthers ever even look twice at a leaf. I am definitely going to keep it in there for now. It looks awesome and I know that my panther will thoroughly enjoy all of the privacy that it has to offer.

My veileds love to snack on the pothos and ficus. Fred likes to eat a tunnel....... lol some leaves got in the way of his walking path so he chomped whatever was in his way.

what kind of palm

most palms are okay, but you want to be careful during the palms natural fertilization period because i've read chams are sensitive to that

since most palms have similar characteristics you should be fine

i found a list that read bottle palms, sago, and robelieni palms were all cham safe so I'd imagine most of the others are as well

they are not toxic but some can have very sharp blades (leaf) along the edges and can give something similar to a paper cut if they grab with a foot and slide on it. Some have nicely rounded edges, some are stiffer than others and some are flimsy so, depending on species and how you have it set up it may not be a problem. just something to consider - or not
