Introducing Chamilli

Hello all.
I am new to the forum.
I would like to introduce myself and my cham to everyone.
My name is Zach. I'm a 23/M/NC.
I have a Blue Bar Panther named Chamilli.
I got him (as a baby) back in May from a reptile show in Raleigh.

I am going to post everything about my set up, and if anyone has any tips or advice on how to improve it, I would be grateful. I will address some concerns at the end of the post as well.

Here is my current setup (after much adjustment)


The plants I have in there are Pothos, Bamboo, and a Croton.
The lights that I am using are a Repti-glo 5.0 (UVB) and just a regular 60w house bulb (UVA/heat).
I feed him a steady stream of crickets. I dust them with a multivitamin about once a week, and I dust them with Calcium/D3 once a week.
I usually use cricket cubes to gut-load the crickets.
I was using a dripper, but it was hard to manage so I just mist him about 5 times a day.

I still have the receipts for everything if I need it.


Some of the concerns that I have are -
He has been staying dark green with black stirpes a lot as of late (as below).

He turns bright and vibrant when he sleeps, but he stays dark most of the time.
I am also concerned about the lighting (there is so much contradictory information out there). I have had him on an all-in-one bulb since I had him, I just switched to the Repti-glow and house bulb today.


Here is a picture of him sleeping. He had an eye infection here, but I took care of that. He doesn't look too healthy in this pic, Idk why. He looks much better now.

Calcium w/o d3 every feeding
Calcium w/ d3 every 2 weeks
Multivitamin every 2 weeks
I usually alternate every Saturday!

Just a dripper alone is not suffiecient enough. I'm glad you switched to misting but how long are your mist sessions if you have no dripper!
The reasoning for misting is not only to provide drinking water but also to provide enough humidity percentage. You might want to add a dripper AND misting.

I'm not sure why! It could be because the suplements are off or the humidity is to low! Try taking him outside to get some sunshine and see if he brightens up?

just a tip from me on the vine your using you should get some small zip ties and zip tie it to the wooden dowls you got and some to the mesh so he doesn't make them fall off I would add some vines like this and you can weave the vine you are using through the rings holes here are some pics of what i use this will help him hide and feel secure and you can also tie them up to the cage walls cause it looks kind a bare. you can get these vines at micheals arts and craft store at 6 feet sometimes they have them on sale so you can buy in bulk. and i know they are strong enough so you don't have to worry about your guy munching on them and if you hang them from the ceiling down it will support him cause it supports my male oustalate cham so they are strong enough just when you weave them through space out some zip ties to your vine. he will really enjoy exploring and hiding out in the leaves.

It could be tmeps. what are they in his basking spot?

I looked @ it just now and with the 60w bulb, it is 83F in his basking spot. The humidity is @ 16% and I have a humidifier blowing right in the cage?.?.?
Should I cover a few sides of the cage to keep the humidity up?

Thanks man. I actually have a bag of em down stairs. I am planning on building him a new cage this weekend, and I am going to put my new baby in his current cage after the show coming up next weekend.
I am going to deck that cage out.
