Interesting question on gut loading, time saver? Who knows?

I saw some dude on YouTube preparing feed for his Dubias and he included the calcium dusting into the chow. Will chameleons still absorb this in the same way as if externally dusting them? I know that through gut loading our chameleons, they get the best benefits of nutrition. I was just wondering if this method is applicable as well? Food or thought aye?

The dry gut load recipe I use, which is loosely based on the rescipe posted on Sandrachameleon's blog, does contain calcium powder.

I do still dust the roaches with calcium prior to feeding them off though.

Somebody did figure this out once and put it in a magazine article. Turned out that calcium does gutload, but dusting provides lots more (guess that wasn't rocket science in retrospect LOL).

Some insects gutload calcium better than others. Mealworms, for example were found to contain more calcium than crickets when fed identically.

And finally- too much calcium will kill your insects. You have to keep the percentage under a certain amount. Can't remember what that is...
