Inside-Outside Temp Fluxuation

I want to put a cage around a hibiscus plant I have outdoors for Fiona....I am worried that the large fluctuations in temp. from inside to outside might be hard on her. It has been running in the 90's outdoor here in FL....I would keep the plant in the shade with a top on it....she would also be supervised. Any advice would be appreciated. I have taken her out for short trips and she loves it.

Just watch for overheating signs like pale skin and excessive open mouth. I'll take my Jackson out on my balcony to play in some bushes and eventually he'll turn bright yellow then start to lose color and open his mouth then I take him inside and he goes right back to normal. Also offer water from time to time whether that's spraying around her or directly.

I live in NorCal, it's been very hot out 100+. I work nights and put my male outside in the am, I asked one of my sons and my wife to pull him in by noon. Guess what, they forgot. At 2 they remembered and found him overheated. He was brought inside, and regained normal color in a few minutes, now it's been a few weeks and thankfully he's no worse for the wear. They are natural survivors, but can suffer from extremes, just remember to keep an eye on them when it's hot. Here's what my wife showed me when I got up around 4.

Thank God he's ok. I plan on sitting on the deck with her and in the shade....I want a wire cage around my large potted hibiscus though be cause I have 2 very playful pups that are curious about her, we also have lots of hawks flying around. I have to make sure they don't grab my dogs too. I love how Fiona brightens up when she goes outside....I was worried about going from air conditioning to heat. Thank you for sharing your story....I will be very careful.

My big male veiled hides during the hot parts of the day. He's out 24/7. He comes out in the late afternoon and early morning. I soak his tree several times a day, spraying up under the leaves.

Well...Fiona spent about 30 minutes on the deck in her temp. caged hibiscus...She loved it. the temp on the deck in the shade was 102° so I misted her and the plant with the hose several times. She is shedding (again) so I'm sure it helped.
ONE problem...she DID NOT want to come back in. Sorry Fiona...too hot for me.

U can always put her out in late afternoon or early in the morning when the temperature are still low unlike the midday.
