What can coarse respiratory disease in female panther chameleon??

- severe Dehydration???

I was told also that severe dehydration would coarse respiratory disease, as it drys all ur inside up is that correct

I don't think dehydration on its own can CAUSE a respiratory infection. There needs to be bacteria, a virus, or a fungus present as well. The dehydration can irritate the lung and bronchial tissue which stresses the cham's immune system, and in turn makes it more succeptible to getting invaded by the organism.

OK my problem is I went on holiday, my chameleon went into boarding healthy for 10 days . When I collected she was severely dehydrated and was put to sleep the following day!!

The vet reports stated respiratory disease and severe dehydration.

I'm trying to get my head around it as she was totally neglected

Well, what we don't know is the progression of her health problems...if she got severely dehydrated first, then the respiratory problems started up because she was weakened and her cage was dirty or the air quality was bad. Or, whether she got the respiratory problems first for the same reasons (air quality, etc)...and then stopped drinking because she was sick...which caused her dehydration. So many health problems are actually secondary to another issue. By the time the vet examined her she could have been so depleted it would present as severe dehydration. Either way, its terrible what happened to her!!

As much as ur right unfortunately I can't answer ur questions, because we're taking legal action we can no longer ask them directly.
As far as I'm aware she was healthy her last vet visit prior was back in February.

The information we have so far is that from my instructions prior to her going was ignored I. E wrong Temps, foods I stated she wouldn't eat was given to her, no forger system, and watered 20 mins in 10 days !!
I can send u a pic through private message but don't want to broad cast her final moments ...

I am heart broken

First off, I'm sorry for your loss :(. I can't imagine how you must feel. I do want to point out that the stress of moving your chameleon to the boarding facility could have had something to do with it as well. If there were any underlying health issues (we know that chameleons are good at hiding symptoms) it could have made your cham more susceptible to illness. It didn't sound like it from what you shared, but it occurred to me to say it as a possibility. Again, sorry for your loss and good luck.

I appreciate ur comment, it wasn't just my chameleon that went into boarding we had 3 reptiles go in and put it this way we return with 1.......
Hence the legal action!!
It's not good!!

I know, that's why I said it doesn't sound like it in this case.

What happened to you is appalling and heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for your loss. Boarding dogs and cats are one thing but sensitive reptiles are another. If they were ill equipped or plainly ignorant to their needs they should have turned you down as a client rather than taking on something they couldn't handle. However it does make me wonder how well they care for the dogs and cats because it sounds like all they care about is making money.
