i have a 6 month old veiled. i caught him yeserday eating the soil in the pot. So i put some scrren and rocks over the soil after that. i also put him in the shower but it still didn't do anything. he ate less this morning then usual is that a sign of impaction? i have read that the vet would just really hydrate them and try and encourage pooping. basically what i can do at home is that true? how long shld i wait before i can know for sure he is really impacted? and what can i do?

I,ve never had a cham become impacted from ingesting soil. Be sure he didn't get any wood chips or fertilizer pellets in with the soil. He should be ok...

Ask yourelf the question : Why did he eat the oil in the first place?

Could be an attempt to scrub out parasites from the digestive tract or possibly a nutriant deficiency.

i give him calciun w/o d3 pretty much every day and calcium w/ d3 and multivit every other week

ssomeone else on here had a cham that did not poop for a week and he put it in the shower and came back on the forum and said he finally pooped!
