Im worried she may become eggbound

Carmen is a veiled chameleon 9 months old she is digging the floor of her cage a lot and only occasionally goin to her laying bin is the normal or have I not set her laying bin up correctly she is goin behind the tree where the laying bin is near the front of the cage.,

do you keep watching her? If so, she probably wont lay. Try covering the cage and then peekng in where she cant see you.

Make sure you have washed play sand in the laying bin and also make sure that her laying bin is 12" deep.

I have no experience with veileds, only other cham species, but some girls will take up to 2 weeks in my experience to lay the eggs - even after they start digging "practice holes". In my experience the females need longer the first clutch, kind of like they need to figure out what to do. Also, as noted by carol5208, make sure she has plenty of privacy from people and other chams.

Her laying bin is too small although she practice one hole shall I change it as I jus bought her a new one or is it best to leave her??

With nesting bins it seems I've done it all and the best thing I've found is to go to Walmart and buy a 30+ gallon trash can. Fill it with a foot or so of plain top soil with no fertilizers (may have to go to a nursery to find it). Place a couple of branches in the can with some plastic vines drapped around and shine a 60 watt bulb via a clamp lamp. The soil should be moist enough that you can dig a burrow without it colapsing. Put your cham in and she'll probably start digging within an hour or so. No need for UVB lights cause she won't be in there very long. Don't disturb her - don't look at her, just let her do her thing.
