hi, so I took an umbrella plant outside today as it was 80 degrees out here in socal and placed my little cham on it. (we decided on the name "Peaches")

anyways, we had to flies flying around and she nab one quick as lighting. I know they can carry nasty bacteria so I mean, can they sneakly eat a fly without tremendous consequences?

she has been fine all day. actually, when I put her back into the enclosure they kept climbing on the roof part Im thinking cause she wanted to stay out longer :)

anyways, as always, your input is appreciated. Im sure a lot of chams have snuck a fly while roaming their free range. Im really just wondering how bad flies are for them

98% of the time it's cool

It's that 2% that we all worry about. All my chams have eaten several wild insects when free ranging outdoors, all lived through it.

its most likely no big deal. my boys have eaten flies when outside as well.

But now that you know she loves flies you should order some blue bottle spikes online. One place that I have ordered from is mantispets

Then you can hatch flies and she can eat all she wants.

great idea, thank you. I have some flightless fruit flies for her, but man are they ever small. so small I think they can crawl through the mesh screening. I've caught her trying to nab a couple fruit nats flying around her cage which is why I ordered them. now I got them and I don't know if I can give them to her...LOL
