:D WILF ATE FROM MY HAND :D

He has been taking wax worms off a plastic lid that i hold up to him for a while now but just sits there if I offer them on my hand :(
I have been hesitant about feeding meal worms because of the high chitin content but since I was having no luck I decided to give them a go.

No luck the first time so I just gave it to him from the lid as usual.
Well...he must have got a taste for them because I tried it on my hand today and he looked at the worm, looked at me and snapped it right up!!! I'm hoping that this will lead to him hand feeding any food item in the future.

I'm so glad I had the patience to carry on trying (arm ache n'all!) and am so proud of my little guy :D I guess meal worms really are like chocolate for chams

Thanks guys! Now for my next challenge, to get him to climb on my hand!

That is great!! :) how old is yours? mine is only around 4 months old, and today was the first day I actually handled him since I got him last week.

I would love for him to learn how to eat from my hand and become more comfortable. Did you have to wiggle the worm around for him to notice it?

Goodluck!! :)

:D:DCongrats! It is amazing the first time they trust you enough to take from your hand!! I am currently working on my new baby but he is having none of it...yet!!

Thank you :D and congrats on holding yours. Mine isn't keen on being held so anything to help him feel better about it is good.
As for him noticing the worm, he noticed it alright, they really do love those meal worms! Just hold them in front of him between your fingers or on the palm of your hand and wait... patience is the key!
