My friend who owns a reptile shop has manged to get hold of 6 jackson babies, im so excited. :D You'd probs have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting a hold of a jackson chameleon in this country. They are coming on Friday :D:D she is keeping two for herself and selling the other 4, i have first chance of getting one off her for £150, i've been after a male yemen for ages but having a male jackson would be extra awesome. :p Only problem is just the other day i promised my bf i wouldn't get anymore pets because when we move in together he is gonna get me a panther. I already have a spare chameleon set up in my house i would just need to get a uvb tube, live plants and thermometers. It's so annoying as i really don't think i'd get that chance of owning a jackson again. Guess it's time to convince the boyfriend its a great idea. :p He doesn't really get how amazing reptiles/chameleons are. Wish me luck. :p I'm not gonna be able to sleep till Friday now, can't wait to see them.

Yes, good luck!

I know about that I'd love to have more but my Husband is not on board he thinks 2 is plenty and doesn't get it either! So best wished in warming him up!
:D

I realy don't understand what you girls problems are? in this world of internet dating or finding a mate/lover, you would think it would be easy to find a guy who likes animals/reptiles.
I say ditch the guys and get more chameleons!!! after all, they don't talk back, and wont stay out all night and get drunk with their buddys. :p

personaly, even I found a girl who not only likes chameleons, but had a jackson in her past...and I didn't even look for such a girl. now if only her working hours matched mine a little more we might have a chance to date. :(

sorry, I'm being silly again.
congrats on getting a jackson soon. don't forget to post pictures. :D

You should hear my boyfriends sweet irish accent, i cant part with that. :p Na he is a great boyfriend, a keeper. He just thinks i think more of my animals than i do of him. He is an animal lover too, has loads of birds and he has has just bought us a puppy springer spaniel from his dad but it is still in Northern Ireland until we get a place together.

Oh and i hope he does agree to let me have the jackson.

How old are these "babies"? You are aware of the high mortality rate right? Very good chance if this baby is 0-4 months there may be a problem.

go for it i know what you mean as i live in the uk but jacksons are becoming more available atm. That is a good price aswell!

Yes i am aware but all my reptiles have come from my friend, they have all been very healthy and i trust that these babies are healthy too. She has a good breeder. But i do know what your saying. :D The babies are 9 weeks old.

At that age I don't care how good the breeder is you are taking an expensive risk. I wish you luck. The babies could be healthy that is not the issue. They can appear to be healthy up to 4 months and can die the next day without any apparent reason. Also You said your friend got their hands on 6 babies not that she bred them. She is only keeping two and selling 4. I would recommend if you want one alive when all is said and done you have a better chance if you buy all 4. Best for them to keep them all and sell them responsibly at 4 months.

IMO - no matter who the breeder is they should hold them for at least 4 months before they are sold. These are not panthers and veileds. Things can and will happen.

Just a warning I felt should be put out there. Anyone considering buying a montain baby should be aware of.

first off, does he have a sister? maybe the type with long red curly hair? I can relocate...:p
yeah, how can you give up that sweet irish accent...?
but a once in a lifetime jackson? just hide it in the closet is what I'd do. :D

I know exactly what you are saying Ashleigh - Jacksons over here are about as common to find as rocking horse poop, lol! The owner of the reptile shop I go to had a baby Jackons in before - he was so tiny and sadly he didn't last long. They are very hard to raise, even for people that have kept chameleons and other reptiles for a long time.

Having said that, if you are anything like me, you'll not want to miss this chance of getting a Jackson. I wish you the best of luck if you decide to go for it!

Thank you for your advice, im not saying im going to get one im just having a look at them first. No she didn't breed them but she did get all my reptiles from the same breeder who has been breeding for a long time. Any way i do get what your saying. Thanks

Haha your funny! Na he doesn't have a sister but he does have a brother with ginger curly hair, lol.
I could never give up that sweet irish accent LOL
Hiding a jackson in a closet is not a bad idea, i could just say it came with the closet. Lol
