I'm pretty sure my pygmy is eggbound...what can I do?

If I can't confirm, is there anything I can still do to aid her?




I monitor my animals behavior really closely several times a day and I can tell that one of my pygmy mama's has been generally immobile and sluggish, her belly is hanging (to the point of almost touching the branch as she "stands" on it), she's been on the ground alot lately, etc....


anyway I'm *pretty* confident she is eggbound...I'd like to confirm if possible, but even if not I'm very concerned for her health :\

I have NO experience with pygmies but with larger breed chameleons a shot of oxytocin from the vet is required and x rays can confirm. Maybe you can call and speak with a qualified reptile vet.

@perry123: i have not seen any eggs, but she is slightly more mobile the past few days and her belly is smaller. she always looks like she is squinting too (like her eyes arent open all the way), but i'm not totally sure if she always did that or its only recent....

my pygs are R.brevs.

@suzi: as much as i hate to say this, that is just not economically feasible. I'm curious as to the dosage of the oxytocin (oxycotin?) as it would have to be tiny

Because of their size they are unable to give oxytocin to brev's. I think the pic of her in the tiny lead vest would win a photo contest.
