I would think that most bugs that affect humans wont affect Chams the same. But like anything else there are always exceptions to the rule. But if you practice the same rules as always. IE limited handling, hand washing, and hand washing.... I think you should be fine. If you really want to be safe, a mask and gloves can help too.
most of viruses that animals have are specefic to that animal/ human a cham cant catch our colds or stomach flu, and we cant catch their sniffles either but it might be a good idea to limit your handling and wash your hands. i would not worry about wearing a mask. the reason to wash your hands is not for the cham but for you. since you are sick your immune system is not as strong and you might be more likley to get simonela (sp) easier due to the bacteria in the chams feces if in fact that bacteria is present
Once my cham was sick and I caught a horrible headache from it! I think that is about all you have to worry about. Like they said... Just keep your hygine regiment strong and no worries.
