identification help me please!

i bought my first chameleon about three months ago and i love him to death, i just dont think it is what they said he was. if yall could tell me what you think that would be great.

i would guess a red bar ambilobe who doesn't care much about his reflection in the mirror? he does have a unique pattern though... i'm sure some experts will chime in..this game's always fun!

sorry for the delay in this reponse, i had to get used to this forum.
i have him in a scrren enclosure. i dont remember the demensions but it is "medium" according to kammerflage. and okay im glad he is a sambava love the little guy. he is on a little food strike. he isnt eating crickets at all. any tips on how to get him to eat em again?

Try hornworms, silkworms, or supers. I would go easy on the supers since they have a hard exoskeleton. You should also feed your crickets a variety of different gutloads. I have found that changing that up helps keep my cham from getting bored with his food. Good luck.

i think i am going to buy some silkworms online and get a gutlad from them as well. change it up a little. so if he likes these silk worms a lot will he go back to eating crickets?

In theory yes. But it varies on how long it will take. It may take 2 weeks, it may take 4-6 months. It just depends on the cham.

okay, i bought more worms today and he is munching on them like crazy, but idk how feeding him what he likes will get him back to crickets

Chameleons don't like just one feeder, they get bored easy. If you had the same type of food for 4 months, wouldn't you want something else for a change? By having diversity, it gives them different things to look at, and give them a variety of amounts of nutrients.

One of my adult male ambilobes refused to eat crickets for nearly three months this winter and ate nothing but roaches, silkies, mantis, grasshoppers, and hornworms. Now he is stuck on crickets again and ignoring all the other feeders I offer. I just can't wait for the cicadas to start emerging from the ground here. I got out at night and pick them off the trees when they are crawling up and place them in a tank with sticks and bark in it so they can emerge. My chameleons go nuts for them all, especially when they are still pale green and very soft. Try many many different feeders, eventually he will eat crickets again, or he won't it all depends on the cham.

i think it is the gut load i am using, because i put some of it in with the worms and now he is being selective with them... hmm
