We bought him and his "sister" together as male and female, and she was clearly female, but I'm beginning to be unsure of him. He NEVER displays any of the typical female colors, even when he's mad, and my camera doesn't really show his other colors either. That being said, I still argue with myself about it every day! Haha. No, I haven't had him tested or anything. Maybe I will look into it. He is a super healthy guy otherwise. Are you sure he is male? Have you ever gotten him tested for parasites?
I know, it tripped me out too when I ran across his paperwork the other day. I have had him since April and he was born on January 6th. He eats every day. I dust the feeders in calcium every feeding, and every other Sunday I alternate between a multivitamin and a calcium w/D3. He also has adequate UVA/UVB and heat/humidity. My last cham was a late bloomer too, but jeez, this one seems small even if he did wind up being female. How long have you had him? I would never have guessed 8 months from those pics, but anything's possible. How much does he eat?
My hubby and I have been in a constant debate about what Blothar really is. Lol.He looks like a she to me but I'm no expert. My sisters female panther looks like that sometimes, very pretty.
He gets the calcium+D3 every other Sunday with a multivitamin on the alternates. He looks a little small, I would get calcium +. The people I bought my pair from strongly recommended it.
You're actually not supposed to do that with panthers because their body doesn't use up dietary D3 as well as just a sythesized D3. Desert species can handle it though.Do you use calcium without d3 every feeding? If not you need to start!
Do you think you could get a recent pic of the tail base?
I just posted oneWow really small, pic of the tail would help
