I've been lurking here for a while, since chameleons keep catching my attention. I still can't even decide what species I want. XD Though I think I'm leaning towards a panther. However, I probably won't actually get things going on until I get my medical problems under control (basically got something like Lupus AND rheumatoid arthritis going on; and I have a confirmed FAI diagnosis). Free ranging is an extremely interesting idea to me... much more than a screen cage, for some reason.
Right now I'm on a bit of a kick researching hornworms. I would love to breed these since they grow so fast, as opposed to dubia roaches, and range in plenty of sizes. They'd be great for plenty of lizards (and insect eating snakes? o.o), and I'm sure my rats* would love them. Though right now I'm working on finding a much cheaper alternative to the premade chow sold by companies such as Mulberry Farms. The chow is just too freaking expensive, I feel. :/
As for my collection, I have:
female normal corn snake -- Apotos
male reduced pattern normal ball python - King Alexander**
female normal ball python -- Queen Victoria**
male leucistic Texas rat snake -- Daemon** (this guy absolutely hates me
)
female red stripe gargoyle gecko -- Felix
uncertain gender and uncertain morph crested gecko -- unnamed (just got this guy)
**previous owner named these guys xD
I've got a little bit of everything, kind of. I hope to get into Caulker Cay boas because they're the smallest sub-species of boa, but that's looking uncertain still. I also did have an orangey female okeetee corn snake who wasn't from a line that I know of, but she passed unexpectedly last week.
*Ah, back to the rats. Notice I have snakes? Yup, I breed rats for feeders. Not too much to say about them. I did originally have one as a pet, and not a breeder or breeder turned pet, but I realized over a few months that rats annoy me a lot more than they please me in any way or form. I might try breeding for colors later on, but nothing else.
The geckos are also re-peaking my interest in the feeder bugs.
Can't think of anything else to note.
EDIT: Ah, yes. I enjoy taking pictures. I use a Nikon L110 and use Photoscape for editing, and Corel Painter 11 for anything that can't handle.
