I am no expert but it doesn't look like a Veiled to me. The colours are wrong. Perhaps a more experienced person can tell you the exact species

I agree with CH5, that third picture especially does not look like a veiled...

all the veiled i have seen are some shades of green...never seen one look so blueish...but that could just be the pic

on a different note, do you have proper enclosure for him ?

UVB *AND* basking bulb
Dusting supplements
NO standing water
and a SCREEN cage

just mentioning the basics :)

Although I may add that it looks like it has the tarsal spurs on the first photo. Which would suggest it's male, it does have a casque too. But I haven't seen a Veiled that colour before

Wow cool colors! For some reason it does not look like a veiled to me. Senagal might be right, I wouldnt rule out oustaleti. Lets see if we can get some super pros on here. Either way he looks awesome, or her...

I didn't get enclosure for him or her yet, you know I'm from Egypt and a few people here care about reptiles its so hard to buy food or getting reptiles stuff from pet stores, but I'm feeding him well main meal are grasshoppers. & I'm making an enclosure for it right now it shall be done in like tow days, i wish if i could find an expert to tell me what kind of chameleon i have, from the answers here i knew its not veiled :) , but i wish if there is an expert here to tell me what kind of chameleons i have and idk yet about his or her sex, beside i don't know the age.

By the way this last picture he was standing on the computer cable look like he enjoyed it he love to stay there lol. i do love reptiles also i have Salamanders Tiger one i think and fire billy one.

Trace thank you I think it is Chameleo Chameleon:) i just looked on Internet and its look so close to the Chameleo Chameleon , i hope it is now i need to know if it is male or female an, and his or her age
:)
thank you so much guys, i'm expecting more answers

Actually I've changed my mind. It's probably a Chamaeleo africanus. They have a wider range in Egypt and it looks like your specimen lacks the occipital lobes (ear flaps) found on the Chamaeleo chamaeleon. Males of the Chamaeleo africanus have a tarsal spur on their back feet and that looks like a small bump and it looks present in the first pic. I could not tell you an age but looks to be an adult.

There are a few people who are/have kept the Chamealeo chamaeleon as well as the africanus on these forums. Hopefully they will chime in with some helpful 'hands on' tips for you.

Cheers!
Trace

I think you got it with the last one Trace! Male common chameleons don't have tarsal spurs...and the casque is not so high at the back.

I've kept/raised/hatched/bred Chamaeleo chameleons and the care should be similar. (I had one WC Africanus once that came in in terrible condition and didn't make it.)

Here's some information that should help...
You will need an appropriate cage. Likely an all screen cage would be appropriate since you live in Egypt. It needs some branches of an appropriate size for the chameleon's feet to grip and some greenery (non-toxic, well washed, both sides of the leaves) to give it some cover. No substate is recommended since many of them can lead to impaction.

You will need a UVB light or you will need to take it out into the sunlight daily. The most often recommended UVB light is the long fluorescent tube Repti-Sun 5.0. Some of the compacts, spirals and even some of the other tube lights can cause health issues. The UVB light should not pass though glass or plastic. If the temperature in the basking area is not in the mid to upper 80'sF then you will need a regular incandescent household bulb in a hood to make a basking area. IMHO its best to place this to one side over the lid of the cage to give a gradient in temps. Appropriate cage temperatures aid in digestion and thus play a part indirectly in nutrient absorption.

Exposure to UVB from either direct sunlight or a proper UVB light allows the chameleon to produce D3 so that it can use the calcium in its system to make/keep the bones strong and be used in other systems in the chameleon as well. The UVB should not pass through glass or plastic no matter whether its from the sun or the UVB light. The most often recommended UVB light is the long linear fluorescent Repti-sun 5.0 tube light. Some of the compacts, spirals and tube lights have caused health issues, but so far there have been no bad reports against this one.

A wide variety of insects that have been well fed and gutloaded should be fed to it. At that size you only need to feed it every two or three days. Feed it enough that it doesn't get fat (and, of course, doesn't get thin either).

Since many of the feeder insects we use in captivity have a poor ratio of calcium to phosphorus in them, its important to dust the insects just before you feed them to the chameleon at most feedings with a phos.-free calcium powder to help make up for it. (I use Rep-cal phosphorus-free calcium). Not sure how to tell you to dust WC insects if that is what you will be doing.

If you also dust twice a month with a phos.-free calcium/D3 powder it will ensure that your chameleon gets some D3 without overdoing it. It leaves the chameleon to produce the rest of what it needs through its exposure to the UVB light. D3 from supplements can build up in the system but D3 produced from exposure to UVB shouldn't as long as the chameleon can move in and out of it. (I use Rep-cal phos.-free calcium/D3).

Dusting twice a month as well with a vitamin powder that contains a beta carotene (prOformed) source of vitamin A will ensure that the chameleon gets some vitamins without the danger of overdosing the vitamin A. PrEformed sources of vitamin A can build up in the system and may prevent the D3 from doing its job and push the chameleon towards MBD. However, there is controversy as to whether all/any chameleons can convert the beta carotene and so some people give some prEformed vitamin A once in a while. (I use herptivite which has beta carotene.)

Gutloading/feeding the insects well helps to provide what the chameleon needs. I gutload crickets, roaches, locusts, superworms, etc. with an assortment of greens (dandelions, kale, collards, endive, escarole, mustard greens, etc.) and veggies (carrots, squash, sweet potato, sweet red pepper, zucchini, etc.)

Calcium, phos., D3 and vitamin A are important players in bone health and other systems in the chameleon (muscles, etc.) and they need to be in balance. When trying to balance them, you need to look at the supplements, what you feed the insects and what you feed the chameleon.

Water can be provided by misting the cage at least once a day and by running a dripper.

Thank you for sharing your Chameleon with the forum. I thought it was a chamaeleo chameleon as well, but I went and looked and read a little and I think those who say it is a chamaeleo africanus are probably right. This was very informational as I had never come across the chamaeleo africanus. You have a great looking chameleon!

Your lovely little chameleon probably likes the computer wire because it gets nice and warm behind a computer!

It looks like you have a male Chamaeleo africanus. The males have a little bump on their back feet called a tarsal spur. The females don't. I've circled it in your pic so you can see what I'm talking about:

Does Pascal (great name!) sleep during the day or were those pictures taken at night?

We don't see this species very often in North America so it is interesting to see your pet. He is very nice. Keep us posted on his progress for sure and don't be shy about asking questions; your English is fine! Far better than my Arabic.

Cheers!
Trace

I'm so glad to know his sex thank you so much Trace for making this point clear for me I'm wondering if i can get a female for him?

About the sleeping pictures it was during night, By the way MY my sister gave him this name when she saw him, i didn't want to change it. I was happy when she hold him and kissed him lol, coz she never done that with any kind of an animals, she find him so cute like baby, that's good start for her....
and about feeding i give him like 10 grasshoppers per day main meal, some times roaches & fly, but I've read that chameleons drinking everyday & my chameleon drinking rarely, i give him water every day more than two times per day by spraying the leafs or dripping, but the most now he drink from my hand I give him water with syringe, few drops & if he is thirsty he hold the syringe with his hand & open his mouth waiting for me to drip water in his mouth. some times i do really get worry coz most of people said that chameleons drink everyday.

I will share everything about him on here, thank you so much again Trace for caring & sharing, and thank you Kiny.

Cheers

Mahmoud
