Wow!! I really dont understand how people can not train there kids to be animal smart! If I saw one of my kids doing something like that........ It just would not happen because my kids know better!!!!!

Exactly. I hope I raise my daughter to know better than that. It makes me sick that someone thought this was CUTE and posted it for that reason. Terrible.

That is just so terrible! What were the parents thinking? That poor chameleon - he's so beautiful. How can they do that to him? My kids would NEVER dream of treating an animal like that. Those people should be banned from keeping pets altogether! They should be giving that child a good telliing off rather than videoing it and encouraging him!

I think some people just think that animals don't have feelings, don't feel pain or fear. I can't imagine EVER letting my child manhandle an animal like that.

I wish he would have tried that with feisty "veiled racer"...I'd like to see who would be laughing then...the sad thing is, is that the average population watching that would think it is funny. If a kid was doing that with a little Chihuahua, I would laugh. a dog is a social animal and would probably love the attention...but most are ignorant to the fact that chameleons shouldn't be handled like that...it is sad. I use to be in a reptile "club" in high school. I have been to over 50 elementary school teaching kids about reptiles. You wouldn't believe how many times I heard kids say "we saw a garden snake and my dad killed it because it was chasing him" or something to that effect (I know it is a garter snake...but everybody seems to think it is a garden snake?? ). We tried to teach the kids why reptiles are good, how to handle ones that can be handled and why to leave the one's alone that should be...but in the real world we can't get to all kids and it NEEDS to be taught by their parents...Maybe one of these days...
