has anyone had luck? Pancake isnt territorial at all, its kinda cool. he doesnt mind being on the same plant or area with my other chameleon. I have a chance to get baby and i know its hard to do but has anyone had luck having 2 non relative babies live in the same cage?

Sorry once they are adults they will hate each other. Even if the 2 trees are 10-15ft apart, the dominant one will walk his way over to the other one just to do some head bobbing.

everyone says that but ive seen 2 adults be chill with each other on the same plant, no head bobbing and no fight for dominance for hours at a time

I would never put two chameleons in the same cage. Especially if it's veileds or panthers.....not even an extremely large cage. I have had several girls in one room, no cages, with different trees and basking spots for each and they did ok.

Most species don't do well when you keep them together in a cage. Even if there are no outward signs of stress the "silent" stress will likely cause them health issues and sometimes even sudden death.

Even two females being together can be stressful.

Think of it this way...in the wild if one chameleon comes within sight of another and they don't want to come together they can move away from each other...where can they go to get away from the other when caged??

One more thing...If they are sexually mature, and you have a male and female in the cage they will mate....even if they would do better waiting until they were a bit older.

100% No. Very stressful to the chameleons, even if they don't show it. One will always be dominated. Please don't do this.

This! Kinyonga is right...dominance and social stress is subtle, cumulative, and can be deadly. Whether they are related or not has nothing to do with it.

Once in a while two adults of different less territorial species (such as melleri, deremensis, some of the fischeri) have been able to share space pretty peacefully, but this is an EXCEPTION and in very very large setups like a room or a greenhouse situation. I have done this on one occasion, but the chams were very carefully monitored for weight loss and general health for quite a while before I felt they really were OK. They happened to use quite different areas of their shared space most of the time which helped.

For the more territorial species such as veileds or panthers, and in the typical cage setups it won't work...don't bother.
