I have two options.

I have a 3 yr veiled chameleon, his health is declining. I am feeding him through a syringe because he cannot recognize live feeders when presented. This is because his eyes are closed and have been for about a month. I feel like I have two options here, my veiled will find someone in this forum that has the time/ money to care for him, or i get some solid advice to nurture him back to health. For anyone interested in possibly “rehoming”, he has a 2x2x4 reptibreeze enclosure, 22in linear uvb, 22in jungle dawn led, 1 flukers heat lamp, dragon strand dragon ledges, and vines/branches. I won’t ask for any “rehoming fee”, and will include everything described above. I am open to any advice on the next step to nurture him to health.

Hi and welcome. Have you taken your guy to a good vet to find what may be going on? We can help as we can review all of your husbandry to see if there’s anything off that could be a potential cause of his decline. If you’d like to do that, copy & paste the following with your answers. I do have a question about our pics. In one you show his enclosure which seems to be outside. Then you have pics of linear lights, which I might assume are uvb. Do you move him out/in? What is the distance between his uvb and basking branch?
If you want to rehome, it does help to state what part of the country you’re in.

  1. The more details you provide the better and more accurate help you will receive.
  2. Photos can be very helpful.

His enclosure is inside. I live in SwFl so I would like to setup an outside enclosure, but there are currently issues with his health and i don’t feel the enclosure is safe from predators.

If you answer the questions I provided, we may be able to find out what is wrong and make corrections. The most important things I’m interested in knowing is what supplements are you using and how often are you using them. Aside from having his eyes closed, what else looks to be wrong with him? Can you post some pics of him?
