I have a question

Ok I feel really dumb for asking this.. but when people are on here saying how many pets they have they use the 1.0 thing.. and I am very cinfused by this lol... what do these number mean and how can you tell how many they have? I kinda figured 1.0 means you have 1 male. 0.1 is 1 female.. i dont know though.. Sorry for my stupidity but I was just curious haha

And to further elaborate 1.1.1.1 would mean one male, one female, 1 unsexed or neonatal specimen, and 1 egg.
