I don't know if my chameleon is egg bound

Hi, yesterday I discovered my 6 month old female veil digging in her test spot. After seeing that, I put a flower bucket with washed play sand under her enclosure. She dug a hole all the way to the bottom, and turned the other way for a few moments. Once she went back up on her branch, I noticed the hole wasn't covered up and no eggs could be seen. Today, she paced around her enclosure, messed with some sand, but didn't dig anymore holes. I know eating isn't common when they are about to lay, but I haven't seen her drinking water either. Is there anything else I can do to make her more comfortable to lay. This was over a span of two days.

Hopefully she will dig again. If not, watch for signs of eggbinding such as lethargy, sitting low in the cage, eyes closed during the day, etc. If any of these happen get her to a vet ASAP.

She needs complete privacy when laying eggs, so I would cover all sides of the cage. It is easy to do with the black plastic you can get in the paint section at a hardware store.

Thanks for your replies, she didn't seem too out of the ordinary in terms of behavior. I'm probably just nervous because it's my first chameleon. Also, I will definitely take your trash bag advice.

thanks again

The plastic I was referring to is actually sold in sheets for covering things when painting, but you could probably get trash bags to work as well :)
