I am leaving for 2 days

I am going to Tohoe for 4 days, the day we leave I can feed it and the day we come back in the afternoon I can feed it.The two days between I won't be there.I do not have an automatic misting system but I do have one outlet from ikea that has a timer. Would I be able to plug an entire power strip into it?I could put the fogger onto the power strip and that might make up for the mistings. Can it go without eating for 2 days? I could load her up the day we leave and pump some water into her food so she has extra (ya, I know its gross but superworms can actually hold a lot of water).

At the size of your veiled, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Water really well the day before and the day you leave. Feed her really well those two days as well. And she will be fine until you return.

Veileds come from a sometimes harsh desert environment. She can easily go 2 days without concern.

You could even keep her lights off so she cools down and gos a bit inactive, slowing her metabolism while you are gone, if you want.

Or you can do exactly what you are asking about- put everything on timers. A mist system or fogger isn't going to draw much electricity and you should be fine that way.

Do you think I could turn the lights off?It would be safer for my bird in there.P.S. there is a visual barrier and have not had any problems with having a bird in the same room. Also I didn't even tell you her size. She is about 30 grams

Well, I'm talking about turning them off for a couple of days while someone is out of town once in a long while. I'm not sure about your situation, but if that is it, then yes, that would be fine to do occasionally when you are gone. Not every week, but every several weeks would be no problem, if the chameleon is otherwise cared for properly when you are at home.

I just realized I am using the wrong profile the post on my thread.I made a GoldfishKiller profile to see after a few months is people still thought my chameleon is a female without a biased answer and I decided to post this too.Oops:p
