Hydration

ok, from time to time in the days i dont add calcium to the bugs that my cham eats i sprinkel a little bit of the water that he drinks in order to help him being hydratated, do you guys think is a good practice or could it be dangerous in the long run? (I also count with a dripper system, i spray a couple times a day and use the fogger to keep humidity high)

I don't see an issue, unless I'm missing something that one of the more established members could address. Misting regularly and/or using a dripper are great ways to keep hydration going as well as humidity.

It might be worth investing in an auto-mister like a mistking at some point so you don't have to worry about access to water on the days where you're around less.

How long have you had your cham?

Hello. So I'm slightly confused with the question. Are you asking if adding calcium to his water will keep him better hydrated?? Or are you asking if it is okay to add calcium to his water?

You guys are going to have to stop doing that lol. Or I'm going to have to learn to type faster. I new I should have paid more attention in typing class.:ROFLMAO:

This is my second cham, is a jackson i got it in a reptail show about a month ago, since i got him he never had his eyes sunken or orange coloration in the feces , eventually im planing on getting a misting system. Im just wondering if the practice of sprinkling some water on the bugs is beneficiary :)

Ok, now I'm understanding the question! Well I not sure how much water you are able to give your cham via insect transport, but water is water. I know when my Melleri came in, they were so dehydrated that my vet wanted me to give them pedialyte. Of course they were not too keen on drinking it, so I would inject small amounts in the insects they would accept.

Well if it don't bother him and he eats them ok I don't see any harm in it. With Jackson's the more water you can safely get in them the better.

OH THE BUGS! Sorry, I misunderstood. I figure as long as it's clean water as you'd normally mist the cage with, you're good. I think it's also good to make sure your feeders are hydrated, so offering something juicy for them to gut load on.
