Hydration, Misters, & Raindomes

I know that I've had multiple threads when it comes to misters, but I think that this should be my last one. So, Is a raindome just enough to keep my veiled hydrated? Or should I invest in a mister too. The humidity is fine in my house. If I did like 5-7 5 minute sessions a day with the raindome would that be enough to keep him hydrated?

im not big up on misting systems or raindomes but i think the raindome is an aternative to the mist.i would imagine combine it with a dripper and youd be fine.im sure someone with more experience can advise you better

I use a mistking on all my cages. the raindome is an optional part of the misting system, you don't have to use it. my chams are well hydrated from the mistings and humidity is fine as well. I think an automatic misting systems is the best purchase you can make when it comes to the husbandry of these animals.

Hmmm I know that Misters are very important but i don't wan't to use just a plain old mister because they leak to much. I know a raindome doesn't really leak but I also don't think that a raindome alone would be enough to hydrate a veiled chameleon. So should I invest in a dripper and if ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY a misting system such as mistking?

Raindomes are, like already said, simply an attachment to the misting system. It's ideal for creating large drops of water that may be more enticing for your chameleon to drink. I sometimes spray my water bottle though the top mesh of the cage, similar to how a raindome would work, and my ellioti loves it! (My veiled hates water of all kinds, at least right now..)

It's best to try both, really. Lots of chams prefer the more "natural" raindrops from the raindome though! (I think anyways!)

I don't think that the Aquazamp Raindome is an add on to the mistking...

It's an addon for the aquazamp misting system though, as far as I know! :)

::EDIT::
What it does it cause water drops to fall through the top of the screen, instead of forming a mist (Which some chameleons don't like at all).

why do you think they will leak? my mistking doesn't leak at all. you can use a dripper and if your cham is dehydrated from the dripper then you can invest in a misting system. the mistking and aquazamp are 2 different systems. each has a rain dome.

I mean leak out of the cage not the system itself. I have carpet floors so they would mildew. The mist is fine enough to get out of the cage. I've heard quite often before that you can position the nozzles so they only hit the plant but even then some water will make it outside of the cage. Then my dad gets all pissy at me :(

you can adjust the nozzle so that it only sprays on to the plants. I don't have any cages that the mist leaks and gets on the floor. I wouldn't worry about that too much. if you have the money for a mister, I would buy it. like I said, I think it's a must have when keeping chams.
